11:38 pm - Finnish BBQ, anyone?
|
I was expecting the race to be rather dull, mostly because it wasn't raining, so I was pleasantly surprised when anything that could possibly happen, DID happen in a couple of laps.
1) Webber won. I confess I had mixed feelings because I was kind of hoping that Rubens might still have a go at the championship. Turned out he didn't, so massive squee for Mark!
2) Sutil and Jarno! Seriously, that was epic! With our commentators going all 'oh and now they're both nervous and they're about to start a fight' while Adrian tried to talk to Jarno. And Trulli being all hysterical in his interview while Adrian was like 'the accident? Well you see, I woke up this morning and then I did this and that and oh yeah there was this accident but it was a silly mistake and anyway it wasn't really my fault'
3) I have a fierce dislike for people at Ferrari, but I especially loath the guy running their press office who was behaving like a child throwing a tantrum because the stewards should obviously have found a way to punish Webber for what he did to Kimi.
4) Ooooh Finnish BBQ... that was just... weird?
5) The rest of the race was so boring that I would have loved some rain on the last lap.
6) Oh yes, Jenson won the championship. All things considered, he really deserved it (and at least he isn't Vettel)!

4:18 pm - It started with a bang...
|
... but it got better. So yay for Rubens! Sorry, but I really want him to win the championship (that alone should be enough to have his car exploding for the next two or three races). And bloody hell, Lewis... I was kind of counting on you to keep a Ferrari off the podium!
Oh, and why do I think about MTV every time I hear the name Vijay Mallya?
Commentators: 'and that's the Ferrari we want! Strong, aggressive... [Fisichella gets overtaken by Heidfeld] err, yes Hamilton is very competitive, isn't he?'

I just bought a new coat... please, could someone lie to me and tell me that I needed it? Because I'm feeling slightly guilty at the moment and I was supposed to look for a pair of jeans and a couple of sweatshirts for my trip to London.
Oh well *shrugs* nevermind, I feel better already *pets coat*

Colleagues talking about Badoer:
C: Come on! The last time he drove a car it was 12 years ago, he doesn't know the track... he's not supposed to... W: Yeah sure, then why the new guy at Toro Rosso... *snaps fingers* Albuquerque C: Err, who? W: Alguersomething... hey, it's not my fault he has a difficult name!
I swear I'm still laughing... I'm pretty sure W will never learn Jaime's surname :P

Story for the F1 challange is done! Of course, somewhere along the way, I managed to convince myself that the deadline was August, 16th so I rushed to translate everything I wrote before I realized that: a) I completely forgot about prompt words b) I still had 2 weeks. *headdesk* Now, I just need to read the story once again, to find a beta and to get it over with super powers XD
Aaargh, I can't wait for my vacations to start even if we had to cancel our trip to Scotland...
And oh, Valentino Rossi is thinking about Ferrari after 2011... be very much afraid! *g*
p.s. nota per una certa persona: dov'è la mia De Angelis/Cañadas? XDDDDDD

The only time I miss qualifying and Mark is in pole... I'm not sure I'll watch the race tomorrow :P
I went to see Nick Cave live on Thursday... it was a really good concert. And Bregovic is in Turin next week, I guess I really can't complain! *g*

I'm really bored... especially because I'm at work and we have to edit a bunch of volumes about the Italian Army. Please kill me now.
I won't say a thing about Motogp or SBK *hugs the Ben and Nori-chan too*
Oh, I discovered Twitter... better late than never, I guess. At least it's not as addictive as Facebook. XD

Webber: “It’s been a good weekend for us so far. I would have liked a slightly cleaner lap on my last run, but Kimi was dreaming or something
Was this what he said in the post qualifying press conference? Because the guy doing the translator for the Italian tv turned it into 'he was drinking vodka or something'... but I admit I didn't hear the rest because I was laughing too hard.

125: Qualcuno potrebbe insegnare a contare a Julito?

The race was interesting... at least for the first lap, then I could easily have fallen asleep. So, weren't Ferraris supposed to improve and be really close to the Brawns? Because I admit I might have missed that particular moment... And oh *points a finger at Vettel* isn't someone a bit of a sore loser? Sorry, but Mark being second is not as good as seeing him beating his team-mate(and I lost count of the times I heard the words Vettel and Webber being spoken by RTL commentators). Aww for Rubens, Jenson looked so lost in the Parc Fermé without him *g*

5:40 pm - *is being random*
|
I'm back from Berlin (and I'd go back immediately if I only could!)... as I already experienced with other northern Europe cities, it is so different from Italy that it makes me wonder why I still live in this country *g*
Highlights of the trip:
1) I finally got a pair of Trippen boots! You should have seen my face when I tried them on... 2) Alexanderplatz, because I didn't really like it at first and then it slowly grew on me (and there was a Starbucks and sparrows and food and way too many other things!) 3) Tiergarten and Unter den Linden, because 'yep, it's that way' 'are you sure?' *facepalm* 'err, hold on I think we are headed in the wrong direction' 'well, there were linden everywhere, how was I supposed to know we were supposed to go the other way?' 4) breakfast at the hotel 5) the u-bahn and s-bahn system... once you get a hang on it. Which, btw, didn't happen immediately so I arrived at the hotel at 1 a.m. only to have the guy at reception asking me if I were with 'the band' (it was a real Blues Brothers moment). That's the kind of public transportation system that would never work in my country, because it obviously rely on people paying their tickets even if no one is checking them. 6) The East side gallery. Because I love taking pictures of murales, graffitis, random things *g*
The only thing I didn't like was the zoo, but I'm an idiot and I knew I shouldn't have gone in there...
*feels the need to watch Kill Bill tonight* *must finish motogp fic*

Our commentators kept shouting that the race was absolutely exciting... so I switched to RTL and since I don't really understand German I could finally fall asleep undisturbed XD
Sooo, wasn't Vettel supposed to win the championship? *snickers* Sorry, but I'm starting to dislike him a bit more with every passing race. What else, Rubens and Jense are too cute, Mark was 5th (yay!) and Massa obviously decided that chicanes are too difficult for him...

Ok, I guess for me the race sums it up with: 1) Mark was third *stares at Vettel and laughs* 2) Jenson/Rubens are seriously OTP!!!1!
Ma qualcuno che ha visto la prima manche della sbk mi spiega a chi Haga ha preparato il sushi? Perché mi sa che mi sono distratta nel momento cruciale del discorso...

1:13 pm - How do you say rain in Spanish? Gibernauuuu
|
The morning started with rain both here and in China, but I can't say I'm really surprised. The race was nice and Mark was second (second!!!) so I'm rather pleased with the result. I confess I'm staring to dislike Vettel but I suspect it's not really his fault... it's just that our commentators keep repeating how he grew up on the Kerpen kart track and how he often asks for advice to Schumacher (thought after Mike's last two races at the Ferrari pit I doubt he should listen to them)... and that really annoys me.
A quote from random commentator: "Nakajima is back to the pits" "Oh, did he manage to spin in there, too?'
Ferrari didn't score any point. *grins* Maybe they should have all the other cars disqualified because of that...
